Saved Places

Save the places that matter — Home, Work, School, Grandma's. BRYKK uses them for arrival alerts, the home habitat bubble, and your custom homecoming messages.

Family Places vs My Places

Every saved place has a scope:

  • Family Place — shared with everyone in your family. There's one“Home” that everyone sees. Each person sets their own schedule, notification preferences, and custom message on top of it.
  • My Place (Personal) — only on your devices. Other family members can't see it. Use this for the gym, your therapist, or any spot you want to keep private.
The whole family shares one Home. But each person's schedule on it can be different. So can each person's custom message. The kids' devices can see the family-friendly default while the adults see whatever personal welcome the sender wrote.

Adding a saved place

1

Open Places & Trips

Settings → Family → Places & Trips → tap + in the top right.
2

Pick the scope

Choose Family Place or My Place. The footer text explains the difference.
3

Set the location

Use your current GPS location, or search by address. BRYKK uses Apple Maps to find any place in the world.
4

Name and emoji

“Home,” “Work,” “Mom's,” whatever. Pick an emoji as the icon — 🏠 💼 🎓 👵 are popular.
5

Set your preferences (optional)

Schedule (when you typically arrive/leave), notifications (who else gets notified when you arrive), custom homecoming message — all of these are per-user, so they only apply to you.

Duplicate detection

BRYKK checks for existing places within 50 meters before saving. If you accidentally try to add another “Work” at the same address, you'll see a warning: “Work is already saved within 50m of this location. Save anyway?”

💡
When you upgrade BRYKK, a one-time cleanup pass auto-merges any duplicate saved places you accumulated from previous versions. You'll see a log message like Auto-merged 4 duplicate saved places the first time the new build runs.

Schedules

Optional. If you set the days you typically go to a place plus arrival/departure times, BRYKK will show a departure countdownon your lock screen the morning of — like “Leave in 7 minutes to make Work by 8:00 AM, traffic accounted for.”

Each family member sets their own schedule on a shared family place. So Mom's Work schedule (8-5) and Dad's Work schedule (7-6) live independently on the same “Work” entry.

Wi-Fi anchoring

When you're at a saved place, BRYKK auto-learns the Wi-Fi network name. After that, BRYKK can use the Wi-Fi signal alone (instead of GPS) to confirm you're “at Home” — saving battery dramatically. You can disable this per-place if you want.

Deleting a place

Swipe left on any place in the list to delete it. Deleting a family place removes it for everyone (with confirmation). Personal places only delete on your devices.

Deleting a saved place also deletes any per-user PlaceSettings for it (your schedule, custom message, etc.). Other family members' settings on the same place are unaffected.
